Education

· Graduated from the University at Nebraska in Lincoln in 1981

· Graduated Concordia Seminary at Saint Louis in 1986.

· In 1993, he received his M.A. in Library and Information Science from the University of Missouri in Columbia.

Employement

· He served as Public Services Librarian and Art Curator at Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis from May of 1988 until May of 1997.

· In June of 1997 he joined the faculty of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, where he serves as Director of Library and Information Services, an Associate Professor of Pastoral Ministry and Missions, and Executive Assistant to the President for Strategic Planning.

Since his arrival at Concordia Theological Seminary, Professor Roethemeyer has been instrumental in defining the administrative role as Director of Library and Information Services. Currently he is working to integrate traditional and non-traditional information resources into the fabric of the current campus and has been instrumental in the development of the recently approved new library/information center.

Boards and Committees

· Past-President of the Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI) (2001-2004)

· Chicago Area Theological Library Association (CATLA) (2004-2007).

· Served on the Board of Directors of the Academic Libraries of Indiana (ALI) since its inception four years ago, providing leadership to task forces focused first on web tools and more recently on resource sharing.

· During spring semester 2005, he led a Direct Request Pilot Project involving sixteen academic libraries.

· 2006-2007 served on the Indiana Resource Sharing Task Force, convened and led by INCOLSA. This Task Force authored Wagging the Long Tail: Sharing More of Less, a white paper that makes recommendations for enhancing resource sharing in Indiana.

Family and Church

Professor Roethemeyer and his wife Kay have one child, their daughter Christina.

They are members of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ft. Wayne where he frequently assists in the conduct of services.
